Our Aims
mates4health exists to support locally driven health, science and education initiatives through partnership, trust, and shared responsibility. Our aims guide how we select projects, work with partners, and measure impact.
What We Aim to Achieve
- Strengthen local health systems through education, training, and targeted support
- Enable sustainable solutions initiated, developed and led by local partners
- Improve access to care for vulnerable populations, especially children and families
- Support future generations through education and capacity building
How We Work
- Partnership on equal footing, not donor-recipient relationships
- Personal commitment and local ownership as a prerequisite for support
- Lean structures and responsible, transparent use of funds
- Evidence-informed approaches combined with local knowledge
What We Deliberately Do Not Aim For
At mates4health, we are mindful not only of what we support, but also of what we consciously choose not to do. We do not initiate or finance projects that lack strong local ownership or personal commitment from those involved. Sustainable change cannot be outsourced or driven solely by external funding. Likewise, we do not support initiatives that exist only as concepts on paper without clear engagement in implementation on the ground. Growth for its own sake is not our goal; we deliberately avoid scaling projects unless long-term sustainability, feasibility, and local responsibility are ensured. By setting these boundaries, we aim to remain a reliable, respectful, and effective partner in collaborative development efforts.
